BAND BIOGRAPHY
Aevericka
was established by Manon and
Birgitte in 2004. Manon and Birgitte had both been dabbing into
songwriting since their early teens and in 2004 decided to form a band
and realize their creative visions and present it to a large audience.
In 2006 Inge joined the band, making the line-up
complete. Manon, Birgitte and Inge all write songs and lyrics,
blending their lyrics, compositions and their own distinctive styles
together into a unique mix.
In February 2006 Aevericka released their debut, the EP
For Aileen, as one listener describes: ...a
musical journey. Two long tracks take us down a wonderful road of sounds.
It's soft and sweet and mysterious'.
Praise
for For Aileen: 'The
sound mix is great, I love the sound bites of trains and seagulls and
ocean waves. Meditation material for sure! What I like is the metaphysical
aspect and the intelligent arrangement'.
'Loved the violin in
For Aileen and the bird calls. This could have been on Kate
Bush's Aerial. Road Trip seems more conceptual.'
The
title track, a nearly 13 minute-long "electronic symphony"
as Birgitte likes to call it, is composed in memory of Aileen Wuornos,
but the band also considers it a statement against the death penalty
in general.
After
the release of For Aileen Aevericka immediately went back into the studio
to record their first full-length album, this time inspired by gods
in Greek mythology. The album Oneiroi was released in
March 2008.
Aevericka
is currently working on their second album, which will be entitled
Minds Wander Free.
The songs on this album deal with political and social themes and promises
to take the unique Aevericka sound to an entirely new level.
